DMW Architects are an established RIBA‑chartered architecture practice based in Dorset, creating thoughtful, sustainable buildings across residential, conservation, community, and commercial sectors. Yet, their visual identity and communications didn’t tell that story consistently or compellingly. Our challenge was to reframe what DMW stands for in a way that mirrors both who they are and where they’re headed.

We began with a deep brand audit and collaborative workshops to uncover DMW’s core values: purposeful design rooted in context, the combination of creativity and practicality, and authentic collaboration with clients. From this foundation, we developed a refreshed identity – a visual language and messaging platform that communicates confidence, clarity, and craft without relying on gimmicks.

To ensure the brand could be applied consistently now and in the future, we created comprehensive brand guidelines. These guidelines cover everything from logo usage, colour palette, and typography to imagery style, tone of voice, and design principles.

The website was designed to embody DMW’s architectural thinking, with clean, purposeful layouts that support narrative while showcasing projects. Every detail, from visual hierarchy to navigation, was considered to ensure the site feels as intentional and thoughtful as the buildings themselves.

We extended the brand into print and collateral. Business stationery, brochures, and project documentation were designed with the same care and material awareness that DMW applies to their architecture. Each piece is tactile, considered, and reflective of the practice’s discipline.

Creative, practical, imaginative

They are creative, practical, imaginative and above all brilliant people to work with. We have been delighted with their creative ideas and can't wait to launch our rebrand and new website in the autumn.

The Fathom team planned, storyboarded and ran various photo and video shoots that were integral to building the new brand. From capturing the team's characters to the architectural process we created an authentic and consistent visual language. This new image bank has become a cornerstone of the refreshed identity.
